How to Prepare for iPadOS 13 Release On Your iPad

Apple will release iPadOS 13 on Monday, September 3oth. This update comes with an amazing dark mode, a redesigned Reminders app and awesome features like Safari download manager and more.
Prepare iPad or iPad Pro for iPadOS Release

Here is a checklist to help prepare for iPadOS 13 release:
1. Check for Device Compatibility

Before we start it is important to know if your iPad supports iPadOS 13. The OS supports the following devices:

10.2 inch iPad (7th generation), 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2nd generation, 12.9-inch iPad Pro 1st generation, 10.5-inch iPad Pro, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad Air 3, iPad Air 2, iPad 5th generation, iPad 6th generation, iPad mini 5, iPad mini 4.
2. Delete Unused Apps

A major OS upgrade is a good time to think over the apps you have installed, and delete ones that you hardly use. While you can always delete apps from your home screen, another way is to go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage> Manage Storage and then tap on the app you don’t need and hit “Delete App”. You will be able to see how much space is being occupied by the apps, so you can at least delete the ones that are taking up too much storage space.
3. Free Up Space

iPadOS 13 update will require at least 2GB of free space, so if you’re running low on free space on your iPad, it might be a good idea to free up some space by deleting unwanted stuff from your device. You should have at least 2.5GB or more free space to be on the safe side.

Read: 15 Tips to Free up Storage Space on Your iPhone or iPad
4. Install Latest App Updates

App Developers have been working hard to get their apps ready for iPadOS 13. So don’t forget to install updates for the apps so that you can enjoy all the new iPadOS 13 features such as dark mode support, and you don’t face any issues.
5. Update to Latest iTunes

If you are planning to install iTunes to install the iPadOS 13, then make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or Windows PC.
6. Backup your iOS Device

It is always a good idea to take a backup of your iPad and iPod Touch before updating it with the latest iOS software update. (Note that if you choose to encrypt your backup using iTunes, along with normal data, secure information like passwords etc. are also backed up.)

You can back up your iOS device using iTunes or iCloud. If you need help then check out our step-by-step guides.

How to backup using iCloud

How to backup using iTunes

We recommend taking a backup of your iPad using the iTunes method as if you ever want to downgrade back to iOS 12.4.1 you will be able to easily restore all your data.
Warning for Jailbreakers

If you have jailbroken your iOS device and cannot live without your favorite jailbreak apps and tweaks then it is recommended that you avoid updating to iPadOS 13, until a tool is released to jailbreak iPadOS 13.
Ready to Install iPadOS 13

After you’ve followed the steps mentioned above, you should be ready to download and install iPadOS 13 as soon as it is available and discovering the new iPadOS 13 features.

iPadOS 13 will be available as an update via iTunes as well as an over-the-air update, which allows you to download iOS software updates (just incremental changes) without plugging your iOS device to the computer.

You can also update your iPad device to iPadOS 13 using iTunes by plugging it to your computer.

It can take an hour or two to download and install an update, so don’t do it if you’re in a hurry. On the day of the release due to the surge in traffic, it could take even longer to download iPadOS 13. So you should do it when you have enough time. Also Read:z shadow hack

iPadOS 13 Release Time

Apple should release iPadOS 13 at around 10 AM PST/1 PM EST. Since iOS 4 in 2010, Apple has released a major iOS software update at that time. If you’re wondering what time it will be released in your timezone then we’ve you covered. Check our post if you want to find out what time it may get released in your timezone.

The only piece of advice I would have is to wait for a day to install the update or at least not immediately after iPad 13 is released on Monday. There is usually a flood of users downloading a major iOS software update, which can slow down the download of the software update and at times has also caused major issues. So be patient and download the iPad 13 software update after the floor of requests has slowed down. It also gives you enough time to find out if there is a major issue with the update.

Please drop us a line if you’ve any questions.

iOS 13: Everything Will be Updated for Apple Music

iOS 13: Everything Will be Updated for Apple Music

iOS 13 Apple Music will be receiving numerous features such as interface tweaks, lyrics support, and more. We shall be looking at some of these features in the following paragraphs of this article.

1
Interface Tweaks

One of the interesting tweaks in iOS 13 Apple Music is a new warning that pops up when you try to duplicate a song to a playlist. This feature is not what every Apple Music user could easily lack, but some people have been looking forward to it. When you try to add a song to a playlist, if the song is already in that playlist, Music app will notify you of the presence of such song, and give you options to cancel or add a duplicate anyway. This feature is not new on Spotify and other Music apps, and we’re happy to have it on Apple Music.

However, this feature is not yet perfect on the iOS 13 Public Beta, but it’s likely for Apple to make major refinement on the feature before the final release of iOS 13 this fall.
2
Time-Synced Lyrics

Before now, Apple Music offers a way to read lyrics of a song you’re playing from the app. However, the company is bringing better experiences in Apple Music as you can now click on the lyrics of a song to follow it while the song is playing. You can also scroll to any verse of the song and click on it to play that part of the song. This is a good way to enjoy music better and see the lyrics in real-time as the music is playing.
3
Up Next

Up Next is another Apple Music feature that is coming with iOS 13. Apple promised that with the release of iOS 13, a new revamped version of Up Next would be available with one click, and once done, you’ll have a queue of songs that are coming up. You will also see information from which playlists, albums, artists, and stations that the song is coming from. You can also change the order of incoming songs. Also Read:book torrent sites

Blowing through Your iPhone’s Data Plan? Blame It on the Broken Cellular Toggle in iOS 12.3 – iOS 12.4

An old iOS mobile data bug seems to have resurfaced in iOS 12.3 and seemingly iOS 12.4. The cellular data switch in iOS 12.3 is broken and allowing apps to use mobile data despite them being unchecked from accessing cellular data.

For example, if you have set up apps like YouTube and Overcast to not have access to mobile data from Settings -> Cellular, they will still end using mobile data and run through your monthly data limit.

The issue has been reported by mjtsai and confirmed to be present by Overcast founder Marco Arment who has received numerous complaints from Overcast users about this. While the original post claims the issue is present in iOS 12.3.1, it is seemingly also there in iOS 12.4.

Marco Arment

@marcoarment

This is killing me. I get reports every day from people saying Overcast is using cellular data despite it being turned off in system settings.

I’ve checked back with many of them, and Wi-Fi Assist is disabled, so it’s not that.

My app is getting the blame for a clear iOS bug.

For now, the only solution to fix the broken cellular data switch in iOS 12.3 – iOS 12.4 is to turn the feature back on, restart one’s iPhone/iPad, and then toggle it off again.

For people with access to high-speed LTE mobile data with a massive monthly data cap, this bug might not be a major issue. However, for iPhone users who live in not so developed parts of the world where mobile data is still expensive, this bug is a major issue. With the bug now being picked up by the media, I would expect Apple to roll out a fix for it soon provided it has not already fixed the issue in iOS 12.4.

iOS 13 Wishlist: 10 Major Features We Want to See

WWDC 2019 is just around the corner. And you know what that means – a brand new version of iOS will be unveiled and it will ship this fall. Like every year, we have some wishes, thoughts, and expectations from the upcoming update. But this time, we’ve already seen some features leaked. Looks like Dark Mode and floating panels for iPad are finally shipping. So we’re taking this opportunity to talk about some of our wishes that are not on the leaked features list. Here is our iOS 13 wishlist!
iOS 13 Wishlist for iPhone and iPad
1. Always on Display

Thanks to the OLED displays, the hardware for this feature is already available in the flagship iPhones. All Apple needs to do is work on the software. And we’re being reasonable here. We don’t want an always on display which shows the time and notifications at all times (like some Android phones do).

Just an ambient display that always shows the time and an icon for notifications would be enough. Apple can even implement so that it only shows up when you pick up the phone. This way, it won’t be a huge hit on battery life.
2. Customizable Complications in Lock Screen

This is a watchOS feature that desperately needs to come to the iPhone. And the thing is, the foundation for this feature is ready, they just have to port it. Apple can have a panel below the time and date which can be dynamic icons, similar to complications of the Apple Watch.

They can show the weather, playback controls, or they can act as shortcuts to open the app itself, or a particular feature in an app.
3. Customizable Control Center with Third Party Support

The new Control Center in iOS 11 brought the customization features. You can choose to add additional controls like Apple TV remote and Screen Recording if you wish. But it’s high time that Apple opens this feature up to third parties. And Apple can severely limit the use cases if they want. Even if Apple lets third parties put up their icon and a list of actions, it can be of great service.

This change can let you take notes from the Lock screen, or access reminders without unlocking the iPhone.

The default layout of Control Center can also use an upgrade. An option to access Wi-Fi networks would go a long way. So would the ability to individually connect and disconnect Bluetooth devices. iPhone users who don’t use AirPods and prefer third-party Bluetooth alternatives will end up saving a lot of time and frustration with this simple addition.
4. Siri and Siri Shortcuts Overhaul

To be honest, Shortcuts app still functions like a reskinned version of the Workflow app. While Apple has added some native hooks and has tried to integrate it into the OS using Siri Shortcuts, it’s still quite basic. Siri Shortcuts needs true automation, especially on the iPad.

Just like on the Mac, you should be able to trigger shortcuts automatically. Right now, you have to manually press a button or ask Siri to run a shortcut for you.

Siri itself needs a UI overhaul. Right now every time you invoke Siri, it takes up the entire screen. Instead, it should only show up as small notification dropdown. Then, if needed, it can expand down. This way you can continue what you were doing while still talking to Siri.
5. Desktop Class Safari for iPad

Based on the latest leak, it looks like Apple is implementing a feature that will automatically ask for the desktop version of a website on Safari for iPad. This is certainly a step in the right direction but it’s not enough. This is something you can do manually on the iPad already. And if like me, you’ve tried it out, you know that this is not enough.

The problem with browsing desktop websites on Safari is the Safari engine itself. It just isn’t robust enough that it can handle complex websites. For example, when you’re dealing with WordPress admin websites or Google Docs on the web, it just doesn’t work well on the iPad. What Apple needs to do is a complete rewrite of Safari on the iPad. It needs to actually port the macOS version of Safari to the iPad. We know that the new iPad Pro is more powerful than some of the Macs, so it can surely pull this off.
6. Mac Apps Easily Ported to iPad

Marzipan is supposed to make it easy for developers to port iPhone and iPad apps to the Mac. But I think Apple needs to do something that works the other way around.

If you’ve used pro apps like Affinity Designer or Pixelmator on the iPad, you know that feeling that’s always in the back of your head. The feeling that there’s something lacking here. It’s either a feature or how it’s implemented. You just don’t have a complete experience. But if Apple can create a system that lets developers easily port a Mac app to the iPad, it would make the iPad way more appealing to some users.
7. iPad Features Come to iPhone

Some of iPad’s gesture-based features need to make their way to the iPhone. The Picture in Picture mode is especially needed on the iPhone XS Max. The iPhones can also benefit from drag and drop feature that works across apps.
8. Customizable Home Screen

It’s been more than ten years of the same Home screen. And it’s getting old, especially on the iPhone XS Max and the iPad. We should be able to customize and arrange the Home screen in a way that we want. And on the bigger devices, we need a denser grid system. The 12.9 inch iPad Pro’s Home Screen just looks ridiculous with the empty space.

Apple already has a panel for widgets. At least on the bigger iPad, it can combine the widget screen with the Home screen to make it more functional. It would also be great if Apple would let us remove icon labels and if we could arrange icons in a freeform manner.
9. More Versatile USB-C Support for iPad Pro

The new iPad Pros come with a USB-C connector. That is a big upgrade over Lighting. While USB-C is amazingly versatile, Apple has restricted its use cases via software. For instance, when you plug in a USB-C flash drive, nothing happens. The Files app can’t read or write data to it. In iOS 13, Apple should add official support for external storage. This will go a long way in turning the iPad Pro into a real computer.

The same goes for the monitor support. iPad Pro can connect to a 4K monitor at up to 60 Hz. But the experience of actually running the monitor at 4K is limited to a handful of monitors. But even 1080P output is okay if Apple let the iPad Pro treat the second screen as a real second screen.

By default, the iPad Pro will only mirror the display. And the app has to write custom code to show something specific on the external monitor. Still, the monitor is for viewing only. Even if you’re using a touch screen monitor, you can’t interact with what’s on the screen. With the looming mouse and trackpad support, adding in real second screen support would kind of complete the productivity setup of the iPad Pro.
10. Files Becomes a Real File System for iPad

Files app was released in iOS 11 with a promise that it would be a new kind of file management system for the iPhone and iPad. It would bring together cloud storage services and local storage in the same app. But the experience hasn’t exactly panned out.

Using the FIles app is still not as good or reliable as the Dropbox app. Plus, the local storage part is still to barebones. There’s no easy way to create folder systems and add files from apps for local storage (which is possible to do for iCloud Drive).

If Apple wants the iPad Pro to be taken seriously and they want it to be used for creative and productivity projects, they need to acknowledge that most of the work revolves around files. Whether text files, audio files or video files. And users need a reliable, understandable way of storing and sharing files.

Not just between devices but between apps as well. The workflow of editing a file in one app, saving it, and opening it in another app is just too complex compares to the Mac which has an open file system.

Fix iTunes Not Opening on PC/Mac

Top 2 Ways to Fix iTunes Not Opening on PC/Mac

"Suddenly starting today, my iTunes no longer opens. When I click on the iTunes icon in my dock, and the icon just bounces once and stops, never opening. I've also tried opening the application from my Applications folder, but it doesn't work? Does anybody help me to get this issue fixed, thanks!"

If you have met the same issue as what we described above, just read this article to get a solution to fix the issue "iTunes won't launch on Windows/Mac". Below are what you can try.
Method 1: Fix "iTunes Does Not Start Up" by Creating a New iTunes Name

First of all, you need to see if the problem is your music library, quit iTunes if it is running, then go to your Music folder located inside your home folder. Rename the "iTunes" folder something like "iTunes Backup".

After that, relaunch iTunes. If it launches successfully it will create a new iTunes folder. If this works, then something is messed up with your music folder. If this still doesn't work, delete any new folders iTunes creates and restore "iTunes Backup" to its original name.
Method 2: Fix "iTunes Won't Launch" by Add A New iTunes Library File

Step 1: Confirm that your Apple device is connected securely to your computer. If you are not trying to access iTunes via an Apple device, or if your device is connected correctly, continue to step 2.

Step 2: Configure your firewall to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet. Many firewalls block software programs' ability to get online as a security precaution. This is because some spyware and malware is designed to transmit personal data from your computer. Making iTunes a trusted program within your firewall software is necessary for it to function properly.

Step 3: Create a new iTunes library file. An unstable or corrupted library file can cause iTunes to suddenly quit or not open at all. Recreating a library file is a lengthy process that depends heavily on the operating system you are using. See the iTunes Support page under Resources for detailed instructions.

Step 4: Reinstall iTunes on your computer. If no other troubleshooting steps are successful, then you can try the method 3.

How to Unlock a Disabled iPhone 4 2019

How to Unlock a Disabled iPhone 4 without iTunes via iCloud

When your iPhone is disabled or locked, as a result of a forgotten access code or if the screen is broken, you would need to connect your iPhone or any iDevice to a computer then go through iTunes to unlock your device. However, this will erase your all data from your phone/device. This can be a problem if you haven’t backed-up via iCloud. However, steps below will tell you how to unlock a disabled iPhone without iTunes.

Step 1: From another device, go to iCloud.com or the Find My iPhone application.

Step 2: If required, just sign in with your Apple ID.

Step 4: Click on the “Delete [device]”. After you have deleted the device, then click on the “Delete Account” button. That’s it, your device is unlocked.

Step 5: At this point, you can restore from your backup.
